With the goal of providing relevant information to educators and administrators, the What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) conducted a rapid evidence review to report on what works in distance learning programming. Liam is a Chartered Engineer and is on the IBPSA-USA Educational Committee. The COVID-19 global pandemic prompted school closures across the United States, requiring students to attend school remotely.
#Ies ve model building software
Liam has 10+ years’ experience with building performance analysis software tools and is an ASHRAE Certified Building Energy Modeling Professional. Liam’s consulting work includes lighting design, daylighting, natural ventilation, CFD, renewable energy and whole-building energy simulation and optimization. This includes Model Interoperability, Climatic Analysis, 3-D Daylight Simulation, HVAC Loads, ASHRAE 62.1, CFD Simulation and introducing the new ‘Parametric Batch Processor’ for energy & carbon simulation and much more.Ībout the Speaker: Liam Buckley is a Business Development Manager with IES and a Project Manager with IES-Consulting. The ApacheHVAC application has a fully integrated airside and waterside graphical user interface for both inputs and output results. The energy simulation engine (Apache) is ASHRAE-140 validated and is approved by the DOE to qualify for tax deductions (179d). This integrated toolset includes simulation from passive solar simulation and daylight harvesting simulation, as well as integration from bulk-airflow and HVAC systems optimization. This analysis and assessment includes “LEED-Automation” integration for Transport (SS4.1), Parking Capacity (SS4.4), Maximize Open Space (SS5.2), Storm Water (SS6.1), Heat island non-roof (SS7.1), Heat Island Roof (SS7.2), Water Use (WEp1, WE 2, WE 3), Water Efficiency Landscaping (WE 1), Energy Performance (EAp2, EA 1, 2, 6), Controllability of Systems (IEQ6.2), Thermal Comfort (IEQ7.1), Daylight (IEQ8.1) and Views (IEQ8.2).Ģ. LEED 2009 Navigator (with 2012 Revisions). The presentation of IES Software VE-2013 will focus on various integrated building performance analysis, including ġ. Liam Buckley, Business Development Manager, IES Ltd. Passionate about removing unnecessary barriers to widespread adoption of the latest building simulation technology, Andy has recently been working on adding a powerful new design optimization toolset to the software. Andy has over 25 years’ experience in the building energy simulation sector working in academia, design consultancies and R&D groups.
#Ies ve model building download
It is freely available for download for all EnergyPlus users.Ībout the Speaker: Dr Andy Tindale is a director and founder of DesignBuilder, and together with Dr Steve Potter, has been leading the development of the DesignBuilder software toolset since 2000. The new DesignBuilder Results Viewer application for viewing EnergyPlus outputs will also be demonstrated. Some of the EnergyPlus HVAC systems supported by DesignBuilder will be demonstrated and simulations run. A model will be imported from Revit to illustrate DesignBuilder's BIM links and a CAD floor plan will be imported in DXF format for tracing over. The demonstration will show how the DesignBuilder modeler can be used to quickly and easily set up building geometry as well as windows, vents, constructions and shading data. DesignBuilder also provides integrated Radiance simulations for daylighting analysis and internal and external CFD for detailed analysis of airflow distribution within and around buildings. A wide range of HVAC systems (including ASHRAE 90.1 baselines) can be defined using a powerful template-based HVAC interface. Commercially available since 2005 DesignBuilder is the most mature EnergyPlus interface available and includes a high quality building modeller which allows building models to be easily created using 3-D blocks.
